Shooting Clinic: This clinic will improve a player’s release, power and variety of shot selection. Improving on these areas of shooting will increase a player’s awareness around the net and in the offensive zone.
Defensive Clinic: This clinic is for both forwards and defensemen. The clinic will focus on backwards skating with and without the puck, puck control, defensive positioning, limiting time and space and creating offense from sound defensive positioning and gap control.
Offensive Clinic: This clinic is for both forwards and defensemen. The clinic will focus on creating offense and the ability to react quickly and make smart decisions with the puck. Players will improve their overall ability to recognize offensive opportunity.
Body Contact/Angling Clinic: This clinic will emphasise the competitive aspect of the game of hockey. Player’s will engage in small area battles that will force them to work on proper body positioning, body contact, puck protection, and physical and mental toughness.
Skills Clinic: This clinic will focus on improving a player’s overall skill level. Instruction will focus on stickhandling, puck control, passing and shooting.
Power Skating: This power skating clinic will work to improve the overall skating ability of all participants. Players will be pushed out of their comfort zone and will work on various skating techniques designed to improve agility, speed, power and quickness.
Small Area Games:This clinic will focus on small area instruction that will work to improve the overall skill level and decision making of all participants. Throughout the course of a game, players must read, react and make decisions quickly. The purpose of this clinic is to force players into situations where they have little time and space. The drills in this clinic will help players adjust to the speed of the game and stay one step ahead.
Competitive Games Clinic:
This clinic will be a fun clinic that focuses on competition. Players will engage in various competitive drills that force them to compete against each other and develop a competitive edge. Drills will include skating races, passing and shooting accuracy competitions and physical battles.

Skylands invites you to participate in our adult hockey skills clinic because you are never too old to improve your hockey skills! The purpose of these clinics is to provide adults twenty-one years of age and older a fun, relaxed atmosphere to further develop the basic skills of hockey such as skating, shooting and passing. Beginners to novice level players are welcome
