President’s Day (2/20/17) Hockey Clinics with Patrick Choules!

 Register early and Save!  $30 per clinic – early registration $25 per clinic!

Power Skating Clinic – Monday, 2/20/17  9:00-10:00am

This power skating clinic will work to improve the overall skating ability of all participants. Players will be pushed out of their comfort zone and will work on various skating techniques designed to improve agility, speed, power and quickness.

Small Area Games- Monday 2/20/17  Mites & Squirts Only 11:40a-12:50pm

This clinic will focus on small area instruction that will work to improve the overall skill level and decision making of all participants. Throughout the course of a game, players must read, react and make decisions quickly. The purpose of this clinic is to force players into situations where they have little time and space.  The drills in this clinic will help players to adjust to the speed of the game and stay one step ahead.

Mites & Squirts Only  11:40am-12:50pm

Forward/Defense Clinic – Monday 2/20/17  Pee Wee, Bantam & Midget Only  1:40-2:50pm

This clinic will work on the specific qualitites related to the offensive side and defensive side of the game. Instruction will focus on teaching players positional and situational play while forcing them into game like situations that will improve their overall decision making with and without the puck.

Pre-Tryout Camps with Patrick Choules!

Register early and Save!  $120 per camp – early registration $100 per camp!

These camps are perfect for the serious travel player who is looking to get on the ice prior to tryouts. The clinics are designed to better prepare players for their respective tryouts in April. The camps will focus on getting players back into playing shape while at the same time refining their skills and placing them in game like situations that will keep them engaged. It is important to keep players focused leading up to tryouts and these camps will achieve that.

 

For Mite, Squirt and Pee Wee Players, $100 if paid by 3/13/17, $120 thereafter if space is remaining, no prorations!

For Bantam & Midget Players, $100 if paid by 4/9/17, $120 thereafter if space is remaining, no prorations!

 

Pre-Tryout Camps Schedule:

Mites: March 14, 16, 28, 30,  All four sessions from 5:50-6:50pm

Squirts: March 14, 16, 28, 30,  All four sessions from 7:00-8:00pm

Pee Wees: March 14, 16, 28, 30,  All four sessions from 8:10-9:10pm

 

Bantam/Midgets:   April 10th at 7:20-8:20pm

April 11th & 13th at 7:30-9:00pm

Goalie Clinics with Tom Huber!

Register early and Save!  $200 for all 5 sessions – or – $60 for single sessions, early registration discount on single sessions $10 per session if enrolled by 3/1/17!

Tom Huber works with the Skylands Kings youth and junior hockey goalies and is a former Rutgers University ACHA Div. 1 goaltender.  The clinics will focus on power skating, save technique and tracking the puck. Tom’s drills are derived from his work with Mitch Korn’s staff (Washington Capitals), Mike Buckley’s staff (Pittsburgh Penguins), and Jon Elkin’s staff (Phoenix Coyotes).
On-ice instructors also include:
Michael Vishnevetsky – Drafted 14th overall by Spartak Moscow in the 2010 KHL draft – Current Head Coach at Rutgers University ACHA Div. 1
Local Junior A and 18 AAA goaltending instructors

Dates/Times

Friday – March 3, 10, 17, 31 – all four sessions from 5:50 pm – 6:50 pm
Thursday – March 23 – session is from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Register for all 5 sessions: $200  – Register for single session: $50 (must sign up by 3/1)
After March 1: Single session: $60

Join coach Alex Shindelman and staff in this challenging 90-minute skills, drills & scrimmage based clinic. Skylands invites you to participate in our adult hockey skills clinic because you are never too old to improve your hockey skills! The purpose of these clinics is to provide adults twenty-one years of age and older a fun, relaxed atmosphere to further develop the basic skills of hockey such as skating, shooting and passing. Beginners to novice level players are welcome

SPRING Session (Starting 3/4 THRU 5/20)

Saturdays 7:10 – 8:40am
